Aurora-Daydream in Bloom
Aurora has always felt like a character suspended between reality and a dream-a soft, quiet spirit who finds beauty in stillness. She's not loud or wild like some of the other princesses. Her magic lives in the way she moves slowly through the world, unhurried and unbothered, noticing every petal, every sunbeam, every breath of wind.
For this session, I wanted to lean into the feeling of gentle daydreaming. If Aurora were alive today. I imagine her as someone who spends her mornings in soft light, stretching out on a yoga mat in the park, a well-loved book in her bag, and fresh flowers on her kitchen table. She's the kind of woman who has favorite sunspots to sit in and believes in the quiet power of slowing down.
This shoot was my love letter to softness. No rushing, no over posing, no forcing a story. just letting the moment breath-because Aurora's story isn't about battles or quests. It's about being fully present in a world that's always moving too fast.
Inspiration for Aurora Photoshoot
For Aurora's shoot, I drew inspiration from light, stillness, and floral simplicity. She has always been the princess most connected to nature, and I wanted to give her a modern setting that captured that gentle magic without being too literal.
Where Tiana's session was full of city movement and Moana's were wrapped in wind and water, Auora's world is quiet. We shot in a soft garden space, where the light filters through the trees like it's been painted there. The location had an open, airy feeling that made every photo feel like a page out of a storybook.
I chose a soft pink outfit to nod to her classic look, layered with a flowy yoga-inspired style that made everything feel effortless. It wasn't about a gown-it was about a feeling. I pictured her barefoot, book in hand, surrounded by flowers, like someone caught in the middle of a morning that doesn't need to be rushed.
Every design choice-the muted colors, the natural setting, the light fabrics-was intentional. I wanted to build a world where her calm, quiet power could speak louder than any prop.
Behind the Shoot
Aurora's session was shot during the early evening golden hour, when the world is still soft and warm. I wanted the lighting to feel like a slow exhale-that magical time of day when the sun isn't too harsh but everything glows.
Instead of fast-paced shooting, I approached this session almost photographing stillness. I encouraged natural, unposed movement-stretching, walking slowly through the flowers, sitting cross-legged with her book open. She leaned into that peaceful energy beautifully, making every frame feel like a quiet fairy tale.
I positioned her so that the light poured in behind her shoulders, giving everything a gentle halo effect. For the detail shots, I focused on her hands flipping through pages, soft strands of hair against her cheek, the light touching the edges of her outfit.
It wasn't about high drama-it was about creating a series that felt like a whisper. And in that calm, every image came alive with emotion.
Shop Aurora's Look
Aurora's modern look was built around softness and natural elegance. Instead of a princess gown, we went for something minimal and ethereal-perfect for a dreamy, nature-inspired shoot.
Here's what brought her modern-day princess look to life:
*Floral sundress or a soft yoga-style outfit (pink)
*A simple book prop (fairytale not!)
*Barefoot or neutral sandals
*Floral hair accents or headband
I've gathered the outfit pieces and accessories, as well as the gear I use, here so you can recreate this exact soft, whimsical vibe for your own shoot or event.
