Intro-A Warm Storytelling Opening
There's something magical about fall at Wheeler Farm-the way the leaves glow gold, the crunch of the path, the soft breeze that makes every moment feel alive. When the Dawson family reached out for their fall photos to be taken, I knew this session was going to be special. Their laughter, bright colors, and easy connection made this day feel like a scene straight out of a fall storybook.
The golden trees were putting on their final show of the season, and the Dawson family walked into the light like they were meant to be there. And honestly? They absolutely owned it.

About The Dawson Family
The Dawsons are one of those families who remind you why candid photography matters. They show up ready to laugh, walk, spin, snuggle, and simply be themselves. Their daughters are full of personality and totally brought the sunshine to this fall session.
Their energy was easy, genuine, and full of love-which is exactly what every photographer dreams of capturing.
The Location-Wheeler Farm in the Fall
Wheeler Farm is one of my all-time favorite fall spots in Utah.
Why?
*Endless trees that turn gold, orange, and red
*Wide walking paths that glow at sunset
*Old barns and rustic farm details
*Bridges surrounded by color
*Easy access + great for families with kids
We shot near the back trail, the bridge, and the charming red truck area-each one giving us a beautifully different fall backdrop.
Creative Vision for This Session
For this session, I wanted to lean into:
*Fall color
*Warm golden backlight
*Soft, candid moments
*Motion-walking, running, spinning,
*Bright colors that pop against the foliage
My goal was to capture not just portraits, but moments-the way they look at each other, the way they walk together, the way their daughters shine in front of the camera.
Poses, Prompts & Candid Moments
Some of my favorite moments from this session:
*Walking as a family across the bridge
*Laughing together in that gorgeous yellow canopy of trees
*Snuggling in close during golden hour
*Dad lifting their daughters into the air
*Mom + Daughter's candid giggles
*The family interacting near the old truck-so cute and classic.
Every pose turned into a candid moment, which is exactly how fall sessions should feel.
What They Wore (Colors that Photograph Beautifully)
The Dawsons chose the perfect fall palette:
*Reds
*Yellows
*Deep forest greens
*Denim
*Neutrals that tie everything together
Against all the fall color at Wheeler Farm, these tones popped beautifully without overpowering the scenery.
Why This Session Felt Special
Some sessions feel like memories even as you're capturing them.
This one felt like:
*Warm hugs
*Fall leaves
*Giggles
*Early morning light
*A family just being themselves
The Dawsons let the moment lead-no pressure, no stiffness-just connection and joy.
